Herringbone
Rectangular planks laid at 45° or 90° angles in a V-shape pattern. The most popular decorative pattern in Michigan.

Chevron
Similar to herringbone but planks are cut at an angle so the ends meet in a perfect V. More precise and more expensive than herringbone.

Chevron is the premium version of herringbone — the angled cuts create a cleaner, more precise V pattern. It requires more material waste and more skilled installation. Beautiful in luxury Michigan homes.
Parquet
Geometric patterns created by arranging small wood blocks or tiles. Classic Versailles, basket weave, and brick patterns are common.

Diagonal
Standard planks laid at 45° to the walls. Makes rooms appear larger. Simpler than herringbone but more interesting than straight lay.
