About Preverco
Established in 1988, Preverco is a family-owned company that specializes in the manufacturing of hardwood flooring. For more than 35 years, they have been among the leaders in North America in this area of expertise, recognized as one of the best in the world.
Founded by Fernand Dufresne, Gaston Julien and Edmond Perreault, Preverco has evolved from craft production to industry leadership. The company now has a sawmill in Daveluyville and manufacturing plants in Boisbriand and Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, where their head office is also located.
Preverco's vertical integration of the production chain — from harvesting to finishing — allows them to maintain the quality standards for which they are known and to offer a wide range of products. With over 500 outlets in Canada and the United States, they also export to Mexico and several other countries.
Proudly Canadian. Nothing Less.
Manufacturing floors entirely in Canada was not good enough for Preverco. They have redoubled their efforts to ensure that virtually all of their materials come from here. From fuel to packaging, their products are proudly Canadian. Raw material supply comes entirely from North America, and they only do business with companies that promote selective logging and forest regeneration.
Certifications & Standards
Wood Species
Every species sourced from North American forests, harvested responsibly, and milled at Preverco's own facilities in Quebec.
Well-known for its pronounced grain and noticeable stripe patterns (growth rings). Natural reddish hue varies from pale pink to dark brown.
Wood grain similar to Red Oak but more subtle and less contrasting. Natural colour varies from pale beige to dark brown, with patterns that are light but visible.
The most stable cut of White Oak — rift and quartersawn for a tight, linear grain pattern with minimal ray fleck. Exceptional dimensional stability.
Tight, uniform grain with natural colour varying from ivory white to amber brown. Growth rings add subtle lines to its very nuanced appearance.
Fine, even grain with a smooth texture. Natural colour ranges from creamy white to light brown with subtle figuring. A classic Canadian hardwood.
Open grain with a pronounced texture similar to Oak. Light, neutral tones make it highly versatile for contemporary and traditional interiors alike.
Bold, dramatic grain with high natural variation. The hardest domestic North American species — exceptional durability with a striking rustic character.
Platforms
Preverco offers solid and engineered platforms designed for every installation scenario — from nail-down solid to floating engineered in condos and over radiant heat.
Solid Hardwood
100% full-thickness hardwood to the highest quality standards. Timeless and extremely durable — can be sanded and refinished multiple times for unmatched longevity.
Engineered — Flexible Core
Two-layer engineered construction with a thick hardwood surface secured to softwood slats connected by flexible polymer wires. The quietest floor on the market per the FIIC index when professionally installed.
Engineered — Maximum Stability
Three-layer construction for maximum strength and stability. Thick hardwood surface attached to a quarter-cut softwood base and red pine veneer backing. Superior dimensional stability for wide and very wide planks.
Engineered — Densified Core
NEW densified core technology for superior dimensional stability. 2.5× stronger internal bonding, 4× more water-resistant, and 3× less swelling than regular OSB. Strand orientation eliminates cupping.
Pattern Installation — SolidClassic & Max19
Boards of uniform size laid at right angles to each other, creating the iconic herringbone pattern. Available on SolidClassic and Max19 platforms. Particularly suitable for contemporary décors.
Preverco's 2026 colour launch brings new Oak and Rift & Quarter White Oak appearances to the lineup — Bone, Mesa, Chai, Shadow, Marbella, Valencia, and Malaga. Each new colour is available in Preverco's signature matte finish across multiple platforms.

Environment
Unlike the majority of plastic and petrol-based alternatives, real wood floors made in Canada have a minimal carbon footprint. Wood is biodegradable and recyclable — it can last a lifetime and still look beautiful after sanding and refinishing. Preverco is GreenGuard Gold certified for all products, meeting the most stringent standards for VOC and formaldehyde emissions.
